Healthcare Quality Improvement and Accreditation.

 
The First Gulf Forum on "Healthcare Quality Improvement and Accreditation" was held at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel on 2nd June 2005. Around 90 doctors, dentists and senior medical professionals attended the event, held under the patronage of Health Minister Dr. Nada Haffadh. She said quality improvement and accreditation have been singled out as being vital in the process - adding that there is room for improvement.

The event aimed to create awareness about modern healthcare management techniques, enterprise risk management strategies, new disease management programmes and new healthcare concepts. Also addressing the issue of quality was Bahrain Quality Society president Dr Ali Al Khalifa. 

Dr. D. Lavanian, Business Manager, ATNF, Apollo Hospitals , India, spoke on "Assessment of Electronic Standards for Health Quality" and also demonstrated the Telemedicine Functionalities. The talk was very well received and generated great interest and awareness of the requirement of Electronic Healthcare standards.(Click here to view the presentation)


Experts from the GCC, US and Canada, Ernst & Young Healthcare Advisory Services executive adviser and forum chairwoman Dr Naeema Aziz, Ernst & Young, Bahrain managing partner Tariq Sadiq and Ernst & Young Business Advisory Services partner and leader James Moye also spoke at the event.
